Locked Market Data Trends
Mortgage rates affect your payment, buying power, and timing. We help you track the market so you can make smarter decisions on your path to homeownership. Our tools provide you with insight into the market so that you can make an informed decision in your homeownership journey.
If you are keeping an eye on the market with our charts, you might notice two slightly different numbers floating around. Don’t worry, you aren’t seeing things! We provide both because they tell two different, important stories about where the market is and where it is heading.
- Today’s Market Pulse is what the market is doing today. It tells you what is happening now. Think of this as the daily menu. This tracker shows the live, up-to-the-minute baseline rates lenders are offering today for a “perfect scenario” borrower. It reacts instantly to daily financial news, making it the best tool to see if rates are trending up or down.
- The second graph lets you see what Borrowers Are Actually getting. Think of this as the receipt. This tracker shows the average rates that real buyers actually locked in the previous day. It is often a little different from the daily pulse because real life involves varying credit scores, different down payments, and buyers who choose to pay upfront “points” to lower their final rate.
While rate trackers are wonderful for keeping an eye on the market, mortgage rates are entirely unique to your specific financial situation.
